Trelew city
Trelew is an important urban center in Northeastern Patagonia. A point of entry to the region, this city of 100,000 is an important center of distribution to the regional tourism. As such, it is regarded as an unavoidable destination that also offers its own unique attractions. Its regional museums and cultural events, such as the Welsh community's Eistedffod, are widely known.
At the same time, the city's strategic location and resources offer an excellent gateway to all the natural and scenic resorts in the region, such as Peninsula Valdes featuring the whales and sea elephants, and Punta Tombo with its penguin reservation. You are also a short drive from Puerto Rawson where you can sail near dolphins, or from the Valley of the Chubut River, where you may treat yourself to a warm cup of Welsh Tea and homemade delicacies.
